4 Why do we have a senior party? Long Standing Tradition Alcohol, drug-free, and safe party All Night Celebration Create Memories It’s FUN!

13 So how does this party work? Parent volunteer for committees Committees begin meeting Monthly All Committee Meetings Fundraising Begins We choose a theme (October) Tickets are sold (November) Blitz Week Party!

14 Fundraising? The Numbers… 531 students made up of RHS, SES and PSEO students Usually about 75% attend the party 75% at an average of $70.00 is $27,860 Usual Cost of party is closer to $120.00 per student. Additional fundraising of $20,000 is goal

15 How is the money spent Food Entertainment (hypnotist, caricature artists, massage therapy, music, henna tattoos, etc Games (sumo wrestling, velcro wall, obstacle courses, etc.) Casino Prizes (200 prizes are drawn throughout the night from gas cards to a laptop to tv’s and luggage T-shirt and commemorative gift for each student Decorations

16 How do we raise that much money? Fundraising Team is Critical as is the support from ALL of the other committees Butterbraid – Pastry Roll Sale (starting today) See’s Candy Bars Craft Fair – March 13/14 (single biggest fundraiser) Butterbraid Sales in the Spring Donation Solicitation (Koch Oil Refinery, Wal-Mart, area merchants and personal contributions of friends and family) Restaurant Nights (Applebees, BWW’s, DQ) Pancake Breakfast at Fireside Gerten’s Fundraiser

17 What kinds of donations are we looking for? Cash/Checks/Visa Gift Cards Age appropriate gifts and prizes (new, never used, in package) Gift Baskets Gift Cards (Target, gas cards, favorite restaurant) Items to be used for party (food, paper goods, decorations, etc) **pick up a donation form. Receipts will be provided for anyone requiring it for tax purposes

18 So how can I help? Each Chairperson has committees that they directly connect with to help streamline the communication process. Serve on a committee OR CHAIR a committee

19 Decorating YEA! We have our Chairpeople!!!! SCOTT AND DEANN BOECKER Design and create decorations to go along with the theme Work with decorations that we have (in an off- site storage) as well as create new items while staying within a budget Coordinate volunteers to transform the hallways of the school the night before the party

20 Games/Entertainment Design and create games to go along with the theme Arrange for entertainment and paid vendors who work the party (much of this has already been done in an effort to get the best pricing and to insure that we have them already lined up) Coordinate the volunteers the night of the party

21 Casino YEA! We have our Chairpeople!!!! ERIC AND LORI SKARE Set up the casino and determine the types of games Supply and provide training for the dealers Decorate the Casino Space

22 Set-up/Clean-Up (Jill) Work with all of the committees to determine equipment needs for the set up of the party Collect and distribute equipment, work with the custodial team at RHS, and insure that the school is left in better shape than how we found it! Direct Volunteers during set-up and work with educating the Junior Parents on how to do the clean up

23 Food (Jill) Determine what food and beverages will be served at the party (keeping with the theme) Coordinate volunteers and food for the event Solicit donations from area grocery stores and restaurants (using our past donors as a guide) Maintain good food cleanliness practices Arrange for food for the volunteers for the night of the party Assist with Set-Up Committee with food for workers and Concessions Committee for the Craft Fair Concessions Stand

24 First Aid/Nurses (Jill) Help to maintain a safe environment and provide basic first aid for injuries Work with security to create a plan for handling emergencies Make a judgment call on anything requiring further medical attention Follow up with Center Based students to insure that their needs are being met

25 Security (Jill) Help to maintain a safe environment and insure that everyone is accounted for at all times Work with nurses, and Dr. Conboy and RHS Police to create a plan for handling emergencies Provide party chaperones Coordinate check-in for the students and volunteers Communicate directly with parents any missing students or student issues Line up Junior Parents to work as security during the walk-through and graduation ceremony

26 Service (Jill) Organize the class service project (historically it has been to bring in items for the local food shelf) Coordinate with group we are serving Communicate project with the students (works with Publicity and Student Connections Person)

27 Student Connections Acts as liaison to the Senior Class Attends Senior Assembly Helps to coordinate with Mr. Brooks and the Senior Skit for Blitz Week Helps with communication and publicity of events Available to work a table during lunch at school, conferences, and other times when we can reach students and their parents

28 Mementos Organize Senior Posters Work with decorations to set up the Wall of Fame and Flashbacks Coordinate the Senior Posters (educating parents on how to create, collecting and returning posters, hanging in the Wall of Fame) Coordinating pictures for the Flashbacks wall (freshman year pictures) Set up the Senior Class – Class photo and the Graduation DVD’s Coordinate commemorative gift for Seniors

29 Tickets Ticket Sales for the Party – Designing, Working the Sales Tables or coordinating a team that works the tables, tracking sales, turning in money to the treasurer Works with publicity team to advertise the Blitz Week and subsequent sales dates Coordinate the Blitz Week Parents Skit (with the Student Connections Person) Coordinate the Student Check in Process (with Security) Order t-shirts and coordinate the distribution to students Work with school on identifying students that qualify for scholarship tickets to insure that everyone can attend the party

30 Craft Fair Biggest Fundraiser of the year! Work with Becky Haage who is our Craft Fair Coordinator Coordinate Volunteers Help to Publicize event

31 Craft Fair – Concessions Work with Food Committee to make a food plan and to coordinate menu for event Decorate concessions area Create coupon/voucher for vendors Maintain food safety practices Coordinate Volunteers

32 Craft Fair – Bake Sale Solicit Bakers Make sure all items are packaged, labeled and priced appropriately Decorate Bake Sale Area Coordinate Volunteers

34 So what happens next? Meetings will be held every third Tuesday of the month. Next meeting is scheduled for October 21. Goal… CHOOSE A THEME!!!!

35 Theme? Every great party needs a theme Bring an idea to share Brainstorming will occur next meeting We will vote and narrow our theme’s to 3 final choices Committee Chairs will vote for final theme and will reveal the theme in NOVEMBER Pick up the “What’s in a Name?” flier
