5 Character Development  Greenwood Forest implements a school- wide character education program to improve social skills  Mentors are assigned to at-risk students to provide support.  Great Grizzly Citizenship Awards are presented to students at the end of each nine weeks.  Classes are recognized for good behavior with golden tickets. 6 Campus Climate Greenwood Forest fosters a positive campus climate through special programs, dedicated teachers, and strong community involvement.  No Place for Hate school since 2010.  Red Ribbon Week  Peace Walk

7 Community  Greenwood Forest values family and community involvement.  Greenwood Forest has an on campus parent liaison two and a half days a week, who helps to increase parent involvement in the learning process.  Parents and community members serve on an active PTO.  Computer aided English classes and computer classes, offered in Spanish.

17 Special Programs  Coach Chipper: Students participate in a year long running program.  Be A Champion: After school program for students.  Spelling Bee  Safety Patrol  Holiday Toy Drive  Shoe Box Presents

18 Extra-Curricular Programs  Choir: Open to any student in 4 th or 5 th grade that has a love of music. Students perform in a fall and spring concert as well as at the Spring Choral Festival.  Chimes: Choir students perform on chimes.  Garden Club: Students plan, plant, and maintain a community garden on the school grounds.  Science Club: Students explore scientific concepts in an after school setting.  Destination Imagination: Creative and imaginative team competitions in STEM, Visual Arts, Improvisation, and Service Learning.
