2 E S GIBT The expression “es gibt” (from the verb “geben” = to give) means “there exists”, but it is usually represented in English by there is (singular) or there are (plural) There is not much in Wolfville Es gibt nicht viel in Wolfville. There are many things to see. Es gibt viele Sachen zu sehen.

3 G ERN The expression gern can be added to many verbs and it changes the meaning in the sense of „to like to do“ something. gern follows the verb Ich spiele gern Tennis. Susanne hört gern Musik.
