To help you enhance the search experience for your users, EBSCO offers a number of custom branding options that seamlessly integrate your EBSCO subscription with your online library resources. For example, you can include your institution’s logo and colors, customize the top toolbar, or brand the bottom of your basic search screen with custom text and links.

Branding your EBSCO resources is easy. When you log in to the EBSCOadmin module, the Customize Services tab will be your default screen. From the Current Group drop-down list, select the user group for which you would like to set up branding. Then select the Branding sub-tab. Before making changes, be sure to select the correct profile from the Choose Profile drop-down list.

Personalizing your EBSCO interface with your institutional colors and logos creates a seamless experience for users as they migrate from the library home page to EBSCO and back again. EBSCOadmin’s easy-to-use color selection tool allows you to change the colors of each part of your EBSCO interface, including the top toolbar. Click the Modify link next to Customize Colors. Use the color selection tool to find your desired color and click OK. Your new interface colors will display in the preview box. When you are finished your selections, click Submit to save your changes.

With EBSCOadmin, you can also add a custom logo and display it to the left, above, or below the search box. Whether simply replacing the default logo with your own, or displaying a branding banner across the top of the basic search page, you can take ownership of your EBSCO account. Under Basic Search, select the radio button to indicate where your logo should appear. Then enter the URL to your logo and your library website in the subsequent fields. You will also need to customize Top Branding with your logos and text, which will appear on search results and detailed record pages. Click Submit to save your changes.

In your EBSCO Discovery Service profile, you can link to areas of your library’s website or other electronic resources by customizing the toolbar at the top of the page. Links can be added, removed, and reordered to fit your needs. For example, customizing the toolbar allows you to link to a library contact page, a consortium website, LibGuides, or a publication finder. In addition to adding your own links to the toolbar, you can customize the labels of the existing EBSCO links.

Bottom branding allows you to add other important library information to your EBSCO interface’s basic search screen. Bottom branding can include text, an image, or custom HTML code that displays links to other points of interest to your users. Click the Modify link beside Bottom Branding. Then click Add New Branding.

Name the branding version you are about to create. Indicate whether you plan to use plain text or HTML coding. In the Enter Custom Text field, type the text you want to display at the bottom of selected EBSCO screens. Be sure to include HTML tags if you selected the HTML radio button above. Scroll down to the Show on the following Screens section and check the screens on which you would like the new branding version to appear. Decide whether you would like this branding style applied to all of the profiles in the group and select the appropriate radio button. Click Submit to save your changes.

To apply your new branding option to a specific profile, select the profile from the Choose Profile drop- down list. Choose your Bottom Branding version from the drop-down and click Submit to save your changes. Note that you can combine this branding version with the other branding options available on the Branding sub-tab.
