3 ABOUT ME  I was born in NY but moved to NJ as an infant  I have my Bachelors Degree in Accounting and Finance  I have My Masters Degree in Education Leadership.  I am certified in Math 5-9 and 6-12.  I have been teaching for 13 years  I moved to Florida when I was 21 and married my teenage boyfriend. (We were next door neighbors)  We have 4 kids together: Jack, Kirk, Lila and Adam and 3 dogs: Bella, Boots and Pippi.  I love the movies, shopping, working out, art, and junk food.  I love teaching and have very high expectations for my students. So, if I get upset – it is because I really want you to learn.  I talk fast, so please tell me to slow down or rewind if I am going to fast

6 KEEP IN MIND…  Textbooks cost a lot of money.  The books that are signed out to you, take home and take care of them  The ones that are given to our classroom to use in school, place them nicely on the book shelf daily, do not write in or on them, please be careful with the pages.

8 In other words….  Respect Mrs. Pullo, My RULES are simple: Being READY; come to class on time, with all supplies, finished homework, and a positive attitude. Be RESPECTFUL to yourself, other students, faculty, and our school and the rules of our school. Be RESPONSIBLE for your actions, supplies, school books and school equipment. Please do not draw on desks, walls, books or leave your mess behind.

12 ASSIGNMENTS  Assignments are NOT OPTIONAL. Homework is the most important part of studying math. The practice you do on these assignments will help prepare you, on a daily basis, for quizzes and tests. Homework will be discussed the day after it is assigned in order to review and clarify concepts. A variety of special activities and projects will be given throughout the year as well. All assignments are posted daily.

13 HEADING UR PAPER  The following items need to appear on all daily assignments in the top right hand corner:  NAME  DATE  PROBLEMS ASSIGNED

14 CREDIT FOR ASSIGNMENTS  All work is required or no credit will be given. No work no credit! Your work must match your answer.  You are responsible for you own pencil, don’t forget it. Come to class prepared.  REST ROOM CHECKOUT one person at a time when it is a true emergency. Take the pass at the door.

15 Grading Rubric  Tests 55%  Quizzes 30%  HW/CW/Projects 15% ____________________  TOTAL 100%

16 MAKE-UP WORK  It is your responsibility to make up any work that you miss when absent from school in the manner defined in the Broward County Student Code of Conduct. To find out the assignment(s) refer to the gradebook.  Assessments will be made up the day returned to class.

17 DO NOT CHEAT If you are caught cheating or if you allow someone to cheat off your work:  You will receive a ZERO!  Your parents will be informed of the situation.

18 Procedures  Students come into class, take out their homework, and begin warm up.  I will take attendance at this time and then facilitate the room to check HW for completion.  Class goes over warm-up.  Review of previous day’s lesson.  Class goes over previous night’s homework. (HW is assigned daily).  New lesson is taught.  Class work/ homework is assigned to reinforce the new lesson.

19 Being on Time and Warm Up Counts!  This is the time that I go over important concepts, items that were incorrect on previous assignments or assessments and material that will be tested again.

20 STOP POLICY  Being enforced at Monarch!  If you are late – fill out STOP form  This form goes to guidance  Once you are late 3 or more time, you will receive a detention every time  Starts over every marking period.

21 IMPORTANT  Please remember that Geometry Honors is a rigorous course that demands focus and perseverance. To be successful, consistent effort must be a part of your math routine throughout the entire school year.  It is also important to understand that Geometry is a prerequisite for Algebra 2. High School guidelines specifically highlight the need to maintain a passing grade, a high test average and outstanding study habits in order to earn placement in the Algebra 2 program.  You want to pass the End of Course exam to keep matriculating in math. Work hard all year and the rest is easy!

22 IMPORTANT  Please know that this year’s Algebra 2 Course is a very rigorous curriculum that demands focus and perseverance. To be successful, consistent effort must be a part of your math routine throughout the entire school year.  It is also important to understand that Algebra 2 is a prerequisite for Pre-Calculus or Honors Statistics and has an EOC exam that counts for 30% of your total grade.

23 IMPORTANT  Please keep in mind that Statistics Honors is a rigorous course that demands focus and perseverance. To be successful, consistent effort must be a part of your math routine throughout the entire school year.  Please get the TI-84 caculator ASAP as it is necessary in this class.
