2 www.britishcouncil.org/studyworkcreate Language Assistants Programme Worldwide network of bi-lateral programmes 2,500 Language Assistants from the UK support the teaching of English in 14 countries around the world, and 2000 Modern Language Assistants teach their native language in the UK Aim: improve both the language ability of the assistants and their students as well as support opportunities to expand cultural awareness and understanding

6 www.britishcouncil.org/studyworkcreate Aimed at graduates only No language requirement 1 st Sept – 30 th June (approx.) 20 hours per week Two weeks training provided Paid salary equivalent to local teacher’s Free accommodation Return flight paid for upon completion of the contract Language Assistants China programme
