1 When a character in a drama, movie, or TV show says or does something that has a different meaning from what he/she thinks it means… the audience or other characters know the truth in that statement or action

2  For Mr. VanDaan…look at pages 386, 387, 390 392 & 396  For Mrs. VanDaan…look at pages 385, 388 & 391  For Mr. Dussel…look at pages 394, 397, and 398

3  An educated/knowledgeable guess based on your background education or your experiences

4  About things that have happened in the play…  Look at pages:  371 (stage directions)  373  378  379  383  385  etc

5  Where a situation turns out differently than you or a character would have thought

6  Throughout Scene 5

7  Any reference to the Holy Bible or any people, places, or quotes in it’s pages

8  Throughout ALL of Scene 5!

9  Any problem that one character has with any other force that moves the plot-rising action ahead!  Man vs. man (Problems between Anne and other characters???...)  Man vs. self (Problems between a character and their emotions or physical body…Anne…The VanDanns…Peter…)  Man vs. Nature (Problems that occur due to the fact that they are in hiding)

10  A form of Verbal Irony where a person appears to be praising something, but in reality…they are insulting it.  Think Mr. VanDaan  Mr. Dussel  Mrs. VanDaan  Peter
