Floor Layout We laid out two 8’ x 45” boards as the outline of our foundation. Then we laid out 16” on center as our floor joists.

Cross bracing We had 14 ½ ” length in between the floor joists and 5 ½ ” width. The cross braces were 14”. Our Equation for Cross bracing c sq.=a sq. + b sq. c sq.=14 ½ sq. + 5 ½ sq. c sq.=196 C= √196 c= 14”

Corners with Blocks We used 92 5/8 ” studs with 12” blocks in between the studs to build the corners.

Top Layer of our Foundation Then we placed a 4’x8’ piece of OSB for the subfloor.

Making the Walls We made 4’x8’ walls with five 92 5/8” studs on our front/back walls and four for our side walls.

Headers Our headers were14 ¼”x8 ½” with a ½” space in between them.

Blocks Our blocks were 2 x 6 and were cut at 10 ½”. We used a total of 8 blocks for the roof.

Outside Rafters We used a total of 4 outside rafters at the same cut of 39 ½”. They are used as overhang of the roof.

Rafter Blocks We cut blocks at 10 ½”, and a total of 10 blocks were used for soffet and facia bracing. This will leave a 12” overhang.

These sheds were built by Mr. Michael McCraine’s 1 st and 2 nd block classes of Jordan Vocational High School. THE END
