Technician Trainings 4 Technician Trainings Held in SK 2013. They were held in the communities of Swift Current, Regina, Saskatoon and Moose Jaw. 52 New Technicians Trained We currently have 162 Technicians in SK. This number will grow to roughly 200 after spring trainings.

Certification Requirements Many Technicians were decertified last year due to not meeting the minimum amount of seats checked It is a standard that all technicians must send in at least 10 completed child restraint check sheets from Jan 1 st to December 31 st. The purpose of this standard is to ensure that technicians are using their skills and keeping them current. If you are having problems getting your checks, please contact me and we can work together to get your checks.

CPS Curriculum The Saskatchewan Interagency Committee met in February and decided that we will explore options of creating a Saskatchewan CPS curriculum. The St. John manual has not been updated in years and we feel we can no longer wait We will meet with people involved in the NHTSA curriculum in the U.S. and see if we could use their materials as a base.

SGI Technician Locator Having your name on the technician locator will allow people to contact you for a seat check or to answer questions about car seats. If you are not currently on the website, but would like the opportunity to be, contact myself or Toni at SGI.

Spring and Summer Events Spring Technician Trainings So far there are 3 Children’s Restraint Technician Trainings planned for the spring: ReginaMay 6 - May 8, 2014 Prince AlbertMay 20 - 22, 2014 SaskatoonMay 27 - 29, 2014 All Technicians should have received an email with all dates and locations.
