Fire Rescue Competition of Cities Organized For Potential Emergencies

Fire Rescue Competition of Cities Organized For Potential Emergencies Overview The FIRESCOPE 2013 will be the backbone of the Civil Defense Action Group in support of the National Government’s Annual Disaster Preparedness Program every Month of July, the “National Disaster Consciousness Month” and the PAID Program of NDRRMC-OCD, MMDA, DILG and CDAG. Teams from each member brigades and various disciplines shall take part in the competition to test their skills and knowledge. Each team shall consist of seven members including a Captain, Co-Captain, Equipment Person, two Medics and two additional rescuers. All rescuers may be called by the Captain or Co-Captain to perform various tasks.

Fire Rescue Competition of Cities Organized For Potential Emergencies Overview The Group’s concept of Search and Rescue is to use minimal amount of equipment to achieve a safe, efficient, and successful rescue. The objective is to use a combination of reliable rescue methods, equipment, and basic knowledge in rescue techniques such that any rescue operation can be accomplished. The Search and Rescue competition challenges a seven-member team to use this knowledge and a set amount of equipment to successfully complete a “real life” rescue in a timed scenario.

Fire Rescue Competition of Cities Organized For Potential Emergencies Overview The teams have to complete five SAR projects in a specified amount of time, usually 20 to 30 minutes. On the competition day, the teams shall be taken separately to the site where their project will begin. When the judges are told to start the project, they will hand a printed sheet containing the description of the project to the Captain who will read the project to the team members. Teams are scored from 0 to 10 in various categories which include but not limited to, Recon/size-up/evaluation of the project, Captain’s duties, Co-captain’s duties, scene stabilization and safety, personal safety, access to patient, patient care and handling, equipment care, knowledge of equipment, proper use of anchors, haul systems and lowering systems.

Fire Rescue Competition of Cities Organized For Potential Emergencies Overview This year’s competition maybe located in a fire training facility, outside of the exhibition hall and a hotel. The teams have to complete five (5) excellent proposed projects with one (1) exhibition case scenario for Persons with Disability.
