RESULTS: Reporting to the Superintendent on Budgeted FTE versus allocated AND sensitive to staff at any given date! Reconciliation to payroll Staff, position, FTE, and now account! POS.997 not EIS.997 Clearer categorization/understanding of staff in groupings that make sense at upper management

Position Control Brandon - Not for budgeting, just for accounting.. Define 830 position codes (100 unique positions) Seven Oaks – All groups, use for budgeting and reconciliation.. Define 375 position codes (75 unique positions) WSD – 1st year in, using for budgeting and reconciliation.. Define 2200 position codes (208 unique positions)

Position Control INTRODUCE: Gaylene Schroeder-Nishimura and Mary Jans from Seven Oaks School Division … doing this since 2006! Talk about how and why they started What employee groups are marked? Who manages the positions and answers HR questions How important is the reporting? Who looks at it? Do Supts see/understand the reporting? Does it help with budgeting? Accounting Accuracy? Does it point out hiring issues? If you lost this feature, what would that mean? Challenges and future goals for 7OAKS and Position Control

Position Control Take Two used to caution: Don’t invest unless you have someone in the district serious about it. We were also concerned with the amount of work and effort (maintaining the definitions, ensuring that PRO.300 and PAY.345 users were religious about their efforts). Any breakdown for any length of time meant inaccurate reporting and distrust in the numbers … Not so much anymore Yes, someone to define the positions Yes, someone to run the reports, manage & watch for breakdowns and provide timely and useful information to superintendents..

Goals/Updates Goals: Districts all implement position control Latest Enhancements: Secondary Sort Ability to one report to use FTE even though some positions may be hourly (converts) Enhancement on Unit/Factor Reporting enhancements to show more of the PRO.300 details and help to explain replacements Control of A? lines only appearing so you can have your L? line details not be included.

Salary Forecasting Opportunity: Clear Past File (else you will be appending info!) Build a detailed file forecasting salary and Benefits assumes current ‘A’ctive staff and does not factor in end date x amount of pays same salary or increase by y% Can factor in increments Can build separately by Job Code(s) to separate Teach & support or whatever groupings make sense Emp Last First Job LOCN Pay Pay Pay FTE ACCOUNT SALARY INCR Name Name Code Table Grade Step ADJUST MNTH 1191 AFINOGENOV CHERYL TEACH 007 TEACH 5 10 1.0000 01135100330007 40,932.90 0 1482 AFINOGENOV EVANS TEACH 002 TEACH 4 9 1.0000 01136100330002 42,900.03 2 1351 AFINOGENOV KAREN TEACH 005 TEACH 4 9 1.0000 01260100331005 38,671.20 2 $4548.10 * 9 payments Benefit Employee Job Last First FTE Gross Deduc Amount Account Code Name Name Salary Code 01000000115000 1191 TEACH AFINOGENOV CHERYL 1.0000 550.90 CPP 8.02- 01000000116000 TEACH AFINOGENOV CHERYL 1.0000 550.90 UIC 12.43-
