7 Tooth decay in children Healthy teeth If not treated leads to really bad decay Get URGENT dental treatment now Becomes brown or yellow spots along the gum line Starts as whitish lines across the gum See a dental person now

8 How Teeth Decay … There are millions of GOOD and BAD bacteria in our mouths The bad bacteria in plaque eats the sugar and changes it into acid The acid damages the enamel on the teeth Which then causes decay or holes in our teeth

9 What can cause tooth decay? Eating and drinking lots of sugary snacks and drinks Not brushing teeth twice a day with fluoride toothpaste

10 How can I prevent tooth decay and keep my mouth healthy? Eat well Drink well Clean well Play well Stay well
