5 At the break out of World War II it was reinforced with ferro-concrete and a hospital was created with a capacity of 200 patients and with operating room. They built a generator, a ventilating system, a cistern and a kitchen. The technology of the period proved to be perfect, because it survived the offensives of World War II unhurt.

9 During the assault many hand and leg amputations were carried out here. In February 1945 the hospital was very crowded, approx. 600-650 patients, since it was the only hospital with bomb-shelter. Since the stored water was not enough for so many people, they drilled a well, too. During the invasion of Budapest the Soviet troops rushed the hospital, and killed the patients and doctors with grenades, flame- projectors and small arms.
