3 Summary Satellite TV grew by 7.1% While Print Medium grew by just 1% Hindi Dailies grew by 4.9% But Hindi Print Medium grew by just 1.5% Magazine Readership declined consistently Satellite TV grew by 7.1% While Print Medium grew by just 1% Hindi Dailies grew by 4.9% But Hindi Print Medium grew by just 1.5% Magazine Readership declined consistently

15 Language-wise performance - Dailies In urban India, English press readership fallen by 3.2 lakhs (or 1.4 %) Hindi print - grown by 10.3 lakhs! Stupendous increase of 25.1 lakhs (or 4.9 %) amongst Hindi dailies! Dailies in all languages have registered a growth except for Tamil dailies, which have declined by 5.25 lakh (or 3.9 %). In urban India, English press readership fallen by 3.2 lakhs (or 1.4 %) Hindi print - grown by 10.3 lakhs! Stupendous increase of 25.1 lakhs (or 4.9 %) amongst Hindi dailies! Dailies in all languages have registered a growth except for Tamil dailies, which have declined by 5.25 lakh (or 3.9 %).

16 Language-wise performance - Magazines Hindi magazines have lost readers (21.2 lakh or 5.7 % to be precise). Magazines in all languages have registered a decline, except for Bengali (1.1 lakh or 2.5 %) and Punjabi (0.2 lakh or 8.4 %). Hence Tamil publications as a category have suffered the greatest losses in terms of number of readers. Hindi magazines have lost readers (21.2 lakh or 5.7 % to be precise). Magazines in all languages have registered a decline, except for Bengali (1.1 lakh or 2.5 %) and Punjabi (0.2 lakh or 8.4 %). Hence Tamil publications as a category have suffered the greatest losses in terms of number of readers.
