14 Caffeine Caffeine Binding Now, back to caffeine. Caffeine binds to the receptors for adenosine, but has no effect on the receptors. When caffeine is bound, adenosine can’t bind. Adenosine Binding Adenosine Asleep!! What happens then?We don’t fall asleep.
