1 POLISH FOLK DANCES

2 Polish Folk Dances: Krakowiak, Polonaise, Mazurek, Oberek, Polka,
Krzesany.

3 KRAKOWIAK The Krakowiak is a fast, syncopated Polish dance in duple time from the region of Krakow . This dance is known to imitate horses, the steps mimic their movement, for horses were well loved in the Krakow region of Poland for their civilian as well as military use.

4 Where to dance Krakowiak?
Małopolska- voivodeship situated on the southern Polish. Krakowiak is danced right here. This region is located in the basin of the Vistula River. MAŁOPOLSKA Krakowiak is danced in Małopolska.

6 Krakowiak dress Feminine attire consists of a colorful floral skirt, white blouse usually this beautifully decorated velvet bodice with sequins and beads. Complemented by a white embroidered dress apron and of course red beads around her neck. Wreath on his head. Male has got dark attire pants in fine red and white striped tunic decorated with sequins, belt, red boots, hat with a peacock feather

8 POLONAISE Polonaise is one of the national dances with a very solemn dignified character. ¾ time signature, moderate speed, rather slow. The attitude of dance characterized by dignity and the fluidity of movement

9 Where to dance Polonaise?
Polonaise is danced in all Polish regions– it is the National dance. Poland-unitary state in Central Europe, situated between the Baltic Sea to the north and the Sudeten and Carpathian Mountains in the south, in the basin of the Vistula and Oder. From the west, are adjacent to Germany, in the south of the Czech Republic and Slovakia to the east of Ukraine and Belarus, north east of Lithuania and the north of Russia.

14 OBEREK Oberek – folk dance with a lively rhythm and melody, also known as the fastest. Oberek is a dance of triple time, usually 3/8. The dance is dominated centrifuged, rapid movements, stamping dynamic at times, full of momentum.
