2Student Responsibilities #1 Be in the room and ready to work at the bell.If you come to class without a pass you are considered tardy.After 5 minutes you are no longer considered tardy,it is a class cut.3 tardies equalsa detention.
3Extra Studio TimeFor extra studio time, see ART teachers in ADVANCE for a pass to work during a free period. No one will be admitted with a pass from another teacher.
4Student Responsibilities #2 Be prepared for class - bring a pencil and necessary art materials.
5Student Responsibilities #3 Students are expected to work on their art projects for the entire class period.
6Student Responsibilities #4 Be courteous of others - work quietly.SHHHH!
7Student Responsibilities #5 Be respectful of other people and their artwork.
8Student Responsibilities #6 Place your first and last name and section color on all written work and projects.
9Student Responsibilities #7 You are required to keep a notebook to track your grades, due dates, and all written work.
10Student Responsibilities #8 Turn in all work by the due dates.-10% per day late will be deducted from late work.3 days late results indetention until project,sketchbook, or assignments are submitted.
11Student Responsibilities #9 Clean all tools and work areas by end of class. A student who loses, abuses or destroys a book or any course material or equipment that has been assigned to his/her care is responsible for its replacement cost.
12Student Responsibilities #10 Dismissal isfrom your seat.Do not standat the door.
13GRADINGStudents are given every opportunity to achieve the best possible grade. It is difficult to evaluate art, however the following system has been developed to grade student performance and work:
14Art Projects All major projects are course requirements. Failure to complete a major project will result in failure of the course.
15Reflection/Evaluation Forms: Upon completion of project, student will respond to the work in an effort to view the artwork more critically.The categories for the basis of the evaluation are listed on the sheet and will be rated by both student and teacher.The written reflectionevaluation form will besubmitted with thecompleted art project.
16Homework & TestsSketches - Students will be required to draw a sketch of his/her imagined project.Visual referencesQuizzesTests
17Mid Term & Final ExamsExams may be in written or project form.
18Spring Art Show All students must submit course work for the art show. Number of required pieces is dependent upon course& instructor.Artwork must be readyfor presentation purposes.
19Reminder: All artwork must be school appropriate. Artwork that includes the following subject matter is unacceptable:drugs, smoking, alcohol,nudity and violence.
20All artwork must be ORIGINAL All artwork must be ORIGINAL. PLAGIARISM will result in failure of project!
21Fire Drill The first person opens the door. We will exit the room and make a left out door 13 (above glass doors).Cross the circle lot and proceed down Tennis Court Hill (on the sidewalk) until you reach the Soccer Field Parking Lot.Move quickly and quietly.Once at the parking lot rolewill be called.
22Code REDIn case of a code red we will close the door, turn out the lights and sit against the shelves under the windows.This will insure no one can see us in the room.In case of emergency you will crawl into closet and proceed to Mrs. Bell’s room and sit with her students until notified.
23Electronic DevicesAt no time, unless directed by the teacher, are electronic devices to be used in class or in school. If you are caught with the device than it will be confiscated and taken to the office.NO EXCUSES!!!!!NO IPODSNO CELL PHONES
24Sign Outs There are three sign out sheets on my desk. Supplies Lav/Locker/Water (abuse it you lose it)Extra Studio TimePlease print and fill out the appropriate spaces.
