4 IV. Beliefs The religious or spiritual beliefs the Coahuiltecans were not very organized. The band members had their own beliefs the shaman did not hold religious like ceremonies. This ceremony children get tattooed by the shaman. The groom and brides parents arranged the marriage. The deaths were taken very seriously and marriages could last as long as three months. mourners sometimes starved to death because they did not search for food they had to depend on others to eat. The mintoes were dances or festivals held by the band. They were often held to celebrate a victory.
