2 WHAT is Shellharbour Connect?

3 A website that provides a central gateway to all local community services information in the Shellharbour area. Agencies & Groups People & their skills Places & Spaces

4 It will allow community organisations to list their details on an online service directory as well as post information about upcoming projects, events, activities, training and funding opportunities that are happening across the Shellharbour LGA.

5 WHY do we need it?

6 An online community hub, driven by local services and residents will be effective in making Shellharbour community information more readily accessible to the community.

7 We have a number of out dated hard copy directories available to the public

12 THE DIRECTORY What will we be able to find on the directory?  Community services, organisations or groups  Sporting associations  Spaces and Places e.g. Park, Libraries, Community Centres etc.  People and skills  Resources What functions will the directory have?  A database of approximately 400 listings within 40 categories  Searchable by Category, Name, Suburb and/or keyword  Community groups and organisations to be able to self manage content by claiming their listing  Listings that can be generated into mailing lists by administrators  Ability to print pages to hand to clients  Ability to add/remove/edit listings through web browser at no additional costs.

15 THE NOTICE BOARD  The what's on/news feed section of the site will be designed to allow anyone with a listing log in to share information and resources, as well as inform people about upcoming projects, events, activities, training and funding opportunities. What will you be able to find on the newsfeeds?  Latest News e.g. project updates, sector news  Latest events, activities and exhibitions  New programs and listings on offer  Funding Opportunities What functions will the newsfeeds have?  Ability for services to upload information programs/activities/events/funding without too much extra effort.  Ability of the newsfeed to easily accept attachments such as fliers and programs.  Old fliers/news/events to drop off after one month. Integrated social media tools to instantly share news/articles/posts on facebook or twitter or ‘send to a friend’
