Bird Control is not a sideline of our business – it is our specialty We focus only on the control and removal of problem birds and to that end we have over a decade of experience and research behind us. We supply a complete solution to our customer and use only the safest, most humane and effective ways to remove troublesome birds.

Our product range:

“Eagle Eye ” Bird-Scarer The Eagle Eye Bird-Scarer is the only bird control system that has a certain amount of control over birds in open areas. Easy to install and to maintain. Needs direct sunlight to function optimally. Excellent to use in conjunction with other bird deterring products.

Reflective Surface The “Eagle Eye” is a rotating reflective device that scares the bird whilst in flight and irritates them while they are perching. A specific light spectrum, that is invisible to the human eye, is reflected back to the bird and makes it feel unsafe in the vicinity of the Eagle Eye.

What the birds see….. Birds are always on the lookout for attacks from predators coming from above. The light spectrum reflected from the Eagle Eye not only disorientates the bird, but it creates a fear resulting in the bird not wanting to perch below the beams reflected from the Eagle Eye. The birds are feeling unsafe in the vicinity of the Eagle Eye and will eventually move to a saver area.

The “Eagle Eye” functions optimally in direct sunlight. Artificial lights are not as effective as direct sunlight, but can be used indoors or in shaded areas.

The “Eagle Eye” works with a 12 volt electric motor. A transformer is used to connect the unit to 110 or 220 volt AC power. The “Eagle Eye” is manufactured from strong ABS Plastic & stainless steel material that does not break during hailstorms and the unit carries a 2-year warranty.

Power source The “Eagle Eye” also works from a Solar Panel or Battery instead of electricity. This unit is completely “Stand Alone” and can be moved from place to place as required. It is especially handy in agricultural applications.

An optical bird scarer approved and recommended by the Department of Nature Conservation (now Cape Nature). The first bird scarer to harmlessly relocate birds successfully from unwanted areas such as buildings, airstrips, farmlands, silos, golf greens, public areas, ect. One unit can service an obstacle free area of 5 acres or 2 hectare, on average

Approval from Nature Conservation

Most Animal welfare institutions are in favour of this product. The “Eagle Eye” is environment friendly and not harmful to any animals or the environment.

Installation trials should run for at least 3 months, after which bird infestation should be reduced by up to 80%. If the infestation of birds is not reduced within the first month, make sure that: 1. The “Eagle Eye” is installed in the correct position. 2. All nests are removed 3. Access to food sources are limited or eliminated. No new birds will enter the area where the Eagle Eye is turning – only a few stubborn old birds will return to defend their territory.

With reference to your mail received with regard the bird scare tactics; I firstly want to refer to ICAO Doc 9137-AN/898 Part 3 “Bird Control and Reduction”. I refer to chapter 8 “Dispersal Methods” and as to Sec. 8.3 “Visual Deterrents”, 8.3.1 c) “Lights”. Also Sec. 8.3.2, firstly, “The effectiveness of visual deterrents has been assessed primarily in terms of the reduction of damage to crops; however, the techniques may also work in an airport environment. Habituation is a problem with visual deterrents as well as with the auditory deterrents”. 8.3.3 “Transient birds are more likely to be scared by visual deterrents since the chance to habituate to these tactics does not arise. The problem remains with resident birds that are attracted to the airport by its permanent features. A combination of visual and auditory deterrents sometimes has increased effectiveness”. Please refer to the website: www.eagleeye.co.za for more information. Please note the very large video file on the sitewww.eagleeye.co.za With regard the second matter as to the “flashing strobe effect” and the safety concern. Please note that mostly during the day the reflections are focused downwards. Also take note of the ambient reflections from motor vehicles windows that might be taken into consideration in this regard.

I would like to respond to your collective documented information; The Eagle Eye system currently on trail, works, as correctly mentioned, from sunlight reflection as was noted by the research documented. The difference to this is that no other specialised system has ever been researched as deeply as the Eagle Eye project. The prismatic shapes are a combination of 3 layers of metallic overlays that have been scientifically prepared to reflect not white but actually a frequency in the “blue visual range” that filters infrared and ultra violet frequencies at a very narrow and optimum range from the sunlight and not just a reflection of white light. (Note the silvery domes for the lager bird species and yellow, or golden colour for smaller bird species) close investigation will show very differentiating angles that covers a more 3 dimensional area. Research into these wavelengths of light determined the interference within the visual cortex of the brain at these specific wavelengths that irritates the animal’s eye constantly and causes relocating from the area. This result will remain with a removal success rate of between 60 and 80 percent, depending on the location, species involved, amount of units installed in an area and so on. The animal will not habituate and return as the “interference remains an irritant”. This product was researched and developed over a 5 year period In South Africa and is the first of its kind in the world. Eagle Eye has over 1000 succesfull installations to its credit within a wide variety of environments. This is a first within the aviation sector. With regard the second matter as to the “flashing strobe effect” and the safety concern. Please note that mostly during the day the reflections are focused downwards. Also take note of the ambient reflections from motor vehicles windows that might be taken into consideration in this regard.

Recommended: 12 x Eagle Eeye’s 200 x FlashFlags

Remove all nests It is important to understand that nesting birds will always return to their nests while eggs or young are been cared for.
