Colonist Response: Colonist upset because; blockage of expansion west Protection of Catholic Religion No elected assembly for Quebec 1770 Boston Massacre 1773 Boston Tea Party Colonist boycott British goods 1774 they encourage Quebec and Nova Scotia to join the rebellion - refuse!
