2. Welcome to Ms. Stubbs’ Class This PowerPoint presentation is to inform you of: Behavior expectations Classroom procedures Cell phone/smart phone policy Restroom usage Why learning any Foreign Language is beneficial Reward System

3. Behavior Expectations Be quiet* when Ms. Stubbs is teaching and/or instructing and during announcements. Be seated. Be kind to your classmates. Be open and prepared to learn. Be prepared for the consequences of poor choices. *No whispering or side conversations*

4. Classroom Procedures Enter the classroom. Begin warm up. Participate in class. Throw any trash on and/or around your desk in the trash can at the end of the period. Leave…in an orderly fashion.

5. Cell Phone Usage Cell phones/and or smart phones are permitted in Room 104 under one strict rule: Ms. Stubbs must give the class permission to use them during a lesson. If I see your device out without permission, you will receive a consequence.

6. Restroom Usage You may NOT use the restroom during the first 15 minutes or the last 15 minutes of class. Your restroom break should last a maximum of 7 minutes. Anything beyond that will lead to disciplinary action. Use the restrooms down the hall not those upstairs.

7. Benefits of Learning A Foreign Language Get smarter. Become a better multi-tasker. Can possibly help you avoid Alzheimer's and dementia. Improve your memory. Learn to make rational decisions. Improve your English/Spanish.

8. Reward System Each period will be given a name. At certain point increments, each class as a whole will receive a reward. Points may be added and subtracted by Ms. Stubbs based on behavior, participation, cleanliness of the physical classroom, respect for classmates, and preparedness. We will begin points on Friday, August 8 th.

9. So what do we get? 3000 points-a sticker (Each class period receives a sticker.) 6000 points-Game Day Friday (Each class period will receive a GDF. Includes Jenga, Connect 4, and UNO.) 10000 points-Free quiz pass (Only the 1 st class to reach this point level will receive this pass.) 15000 points-Improv Game Friday (Each class period will receive IGF. Improv games like LOT, One Word Stories, Model Clay Sculptor, Tu Es Mort) 21000 points-Local Atlanta Comedian (Only the 1 st class to reach this point level will receive this opportunity.) 28000 points-15 Minute Thursday (Each class period will receive a 15MT) 36000 points-Class Choice Repeat (Each class period will receive a CCR.) 45000 points-UFC/MMA Fighter (Only the 1 st class to reach this point level will receive this opportunity.)

10. About Your French I Teacher… I was born and raised in Mississippi. I grew up in the same neighborhood as Channing Tatum until his parents sold their pizza place and moved. I went to the same college as Jimmy Buffet, Brett Favre, and AfroMan. I received my master’s degree from the oldest Spanish university in the world. It was founded in 1208. I am a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. I have been teaching for 16 years.
