General Information The Emperor Penguin is in the mammal group The scientific name is Aptenodytes forsteri The life span of the Emperor Penguin is up to 20 years
Physical Characteristics The color of the Emperor Penguin is a little bit of yellow on the head, and the head and back are black. The stomach is white The average weight of an Emperor Penguin is male inches tall and 88lbs. Female inches tall and 60lbs. The Emperor Penguin is covered in feathers One unique body part of the Emperor Penguin is the feet, the feet are put back on the animals body which makes the penguin walk an awkward waddle. The feet are also used as rudders in the water which helps the penguin swim faster
Habitat The habitat of this penguin is the icy coastline of Antarctica. Antarctica is known as one as the coldest places on earth The climate in Antarctica can get as low as -76 Faranheit
Behaviors The Emperor Penguin eats squid, fish, and krill The way the Emperor Penguin feeds is that it will dive beneath the surface using its flippers to fly through the water The Emperor Penguin lays eggs The female can lay up to 1 egg
