2Miniature Circuit Breakers to UL 489 What is UL 489?UL 489 is the UL Standard for Safety for Molded-case Circuit Breakers, Molded-case Switches and Circuit Breaker Enclosures. The requirements are specifically intended to provide Service Entrance, Feeder and Branch Circuit Protection in accordance with the National Electrical Code, NFPA 70.The 5SJ4 series of Miniature Circuit Breakers meet the requirements for Branch Circuit or Feeder Protection and are intended to protect electrical wires from catching fire in an application.
