In a sugar producing unit, aside from the capability to capture data, processing tasks and bookkeeping, the program should at least be able to determine direct and indirect cost for a 50-kilogram bag of sugar (per field for agricultural, per process on the industrial and per activity for either). The program should be capable of activity-based costing. This ability would make it possible for managers and supervisors to streamline their operations toward productivity while maintaining a focus on production. The program should include hyperlinks for quick access to sites particular to trends and technologies for the industry. SUGAR4 tells you how it is.

6 Here is what some people say about SUGAR4.
“SUGAR4 is a good tool in increasing productivity in sugarcane farming; not only in the field but also in the office.” Mr. Jose Maria Gaston of Sherwood Farms (Director, Kabulig) Mrs. Gina Martin of BJB Agro-Industrial, Corporation (President, AHSSI) “The data I need to make a decision is provided by SUGAR4 making the management of our sugar business most efficient!.” Mrs. Chona Flores of Hda. Payhum & Hanil (Director, VIMACA) “More planters should get involved in this... make SUGAR4 part of their farm operation.” Mr. Jeff Mann of DEVON Farms (Englishman, farm in Bago City) “Since adopting the SUGAR4 software, the day-to-day running of our farming operations and the results achieved have improved significantly. We could not - and we will not - conduct our sugar cane business without Sugar4 being an integral part of our management system.” Mr. James Ledesma of SRA “Allow me to congratulate you and your associates for creating programs that will help the sugar industry modernize its farming control system in step with its goal to become competitive globally.”

7 Benefits you get when you use SUGAR4.
Benefits using SUGAR4  Efficient undertaking of administrative tasks (for example, payroll preparation, tracking of accounts, distribution of bonuses, computing contributions for SSS/PhilHealth, etc.) will free your staff to do more important work.  Up to date warehouse reports can help lower inventory levels.  Field reports can tell us which fields need attention.  An organized record of equipment helps to determine which equipment is costly to maintain. With these routine tasks out of the way and armed with information, your people will have more time to focus on operations.

8 Benefits you get when you use SUGAR4.
Benefits using SUGAR4 Tariff for sugar imports will soon be lifted. SUGAR4 can help you to be globally competitive by focusing on productivity as well as production. SUGAR4 measures productivity as the ratio of sugar sales over expense (productivity ratio). This is reported for each field with each cost identified. Determining how much a 50Kg bag of sugar costs as it comes out from the field seems like tedious work… with SUGAR4 it becomes an easy routine! Relevant and accurate information from monitoring field inputs and cultural practices can allow management to establish standards that could lower production cost.

11 One giant equation and a long list of variables!
The running of a sugarcane plantation is becoming competitive. The business need to examine even the vaguely tangible. The summation of records must consider the indirect cost as equally important as direct to field cost. Generalization can be misleading. Purchase receipts, daily time reports, cane delivery receipts and other raw data are preferred over polished reports. The least human intervention in summarizing data will give the clearest overall picture. The information must come from records of those directly involved. Variables and assumptions should be kept to a minimum no matter how large the equation may seem. A feature that allows the manager to view operation from a macro perspective and the capability to drill into the details is useful. For example, in a farm setting, it would be great to view a color-coded map that can show which fields are making money as well as identify those that lose money; you can then click on a field of choice and examine the cost per activity or material used, the date it was done, who did what, and how much it cost to produce a bag of sugar from that field. The map can switch filters to show the schedule for harvest and monitor progress; show the whole farm distinguishing ratoon from new plants, display variety or even possible water problems. Graphs and curves are also good features. The program should cover procurement and resource management too. The sub-program for procurement should be able to report on inventory anytime and help maintain the minimum quantity levels for selected materials. It should be robust to transfer or return materials to and from the main warehouse, either to a remote warehouse or a supplier. The resource management module should allow for scheduling of resources and monitoring of activities, whether it is for repair, maintenance or usage. In making the decision on what features to have, the organization should distinguish what would be nice and what is relevant. Too many features could cost much and might even be a source of distraction. The decisions that management will make based on reliable information could boost PRODUCTIVITY. Remember P A C E
