The Internet An important tool in your job search! More employers are using the web to post job openings and to accept applications & resumes If you don’t have an e-mail address, many websites offer free accounts (Resource Room staff can help you) Your packet includes several helpful job search websites. Here are some we especially recommend…
SMART 2010 Skills Matching and Referral Technology How it Works We e-mail your resume to SMART 2010. System scans your resume for “transferable skills” which can be applied to different types of careers. SMART 2010 sends job matches directly to your e-mail, starting within 24 hours of submission. You will get updates whenever there are new matches
SMART 2010 Skills Matching and Referral Technology Enroll in SMART 2010 All CNY Works customers will be enrolled in SMART 2010. Enrollment in SMART 2010 does not take the place of your Job Search Requirement for Unemployment. You need a valid e-mail address to receive job match notifications. We can help set up an e-mail account if you do not have one. All job matches are local (30 mile radius) or you can request to get matches from job openings statewide
What Are Transferable Skills? Transferable skills are gathered through all types of life experiences: previous jobs as well as volunteer work, hobbies and other activities. Anything you’ve done before in one field that you can apply to new employment in a different career field.
