She even told him what kinds of things to say.

14. When I was a young fellow about thirteen, I had somehow gotten in with a group of guys who were a little older than I was, and more sophisticated. 關係代名詞 who 引導形容詞子句，修飾 a group of guys 。 sophisticated: experienced 本句的主要子句以過去完成式 had gotten 表 示「回想過去所發生的事」。
