Ans: …………..because locked out….. 分詞構句的用法 分詞構句指的是用分詞或分詞片語修飾主要子句的主詞和動 詞，使用分詞構句時有兩原則需注意： 1. 分詞構句與主要子句的主詞必須相同；分詞構句可以放在 主要子句的前面或後面。 He sat by the pool. He drank iced tea. → He sat………, drinking iced tea.

2. 2. 分詞構句裡的動詞，如果是主動語氣就要用 V-ing ，被動 語氣的話用 p.p 。 She lay awake all night. She dreamed of her fairy-tale wedding. → She lay awake all night, dreaming of…… The letter was written in French. The letter was from my pen pal in Paris. → The letter……., being from…… 分詞構句的作用 分詞構句可用來表示各種不同的目的，常見的有以下幾種： A. 表示「事件發生的先後順序」 After she washed the dishes, Marian made a pot of tea. → After washing the dishes, Marian made a pot of tea.

3. B. 表示「同時」 While Dan was watching TV, he ironed his shirt. → While watching TV, Dan ironed his shirt. → Watching TV, Dan ironed his shirt. C. 表示「原因」 Because she was late for work, Karen skipped breakfast. → Because being late for work, Karen skipped breakfast. Exercise 1 請將下列句子改寫成分詞構句，並說明其目的 1.
