Criteria A - Funding Make sure this is ordered in a logical manner. Include a cover sheet with a map locating the facilities National funding first – Title, budget diagrams and explanation leading to local funding. You must make reference to specific figures. You must state which sector they are in; Early Years, Social Care, Statutory or non-statutory, Privately funded Nursery diagram (explain each box – use the info from your first diagram) This could be a PIE chart. Explain your diagram. Make sure you make reference to the opinion of the people you interviewed Pembroke funding Make sure you include fees for the nursery, the costs of the room from and 3 rd party top-up for Pembroke. A3 – how does National provision affect funding.
Criteria B – Direct Job Roles Make sure you have a clear title. Write an introduction for your daily timetable – who did you speak to, to get this information and explain the job role. Give examples for any skills and qualities. These must be separately explained. All qualifications referred to must be clear and personalised to the person you interviewed. Don’t forget to write about the advantages and disadvantages of different entry routes to the specific jobs.
Criteria C – Care Values Make sure you have an introduction and a list of the relevant Care Values 4 care values should be explored in detail – how did you see these put into place and what effect did this have? Why did they have an effect? A comparison should be made with the Care Values of each placement. What were the similarities and what was the difference? Use a table comparing them side by side.
Criteria D – Client Needs You must include your survey (questionnaire) and write an introduction. The answers must be explained eg everyday the nursery had exercise outside so the children keep fit. Identify the clients first in your introduction (parents, children (what ages), older adults) Include a chart to show how the needs of the clients change according to their age for both sets of clients (see example) Most of you have missed out exercise in Physical needs. Self esteem and image should be cut and paste into Emotional needs (not Intellectual). Most of you have missed learning in Intellectual needs Make sure you draw a conclusion – how well do you think the needs are met- how could they be improved? Specifically refer to the information you collected from the clients on your visits.
Criteria E – Barriers BIG MARKS Most of you have missed out what the effects on the clients are due to these barriers being in place. For example is it stopping them from making friends, restricting their learning opportunities? You need to discuss this. How would it empower the client if these barriers were removed? How does it empower the client if the barriers are overcome and their needs are met according to Maslow’s Hierarchy of needs (include diagram)? Include a bibliography
Deadlines Your coursework needs to be in on April 4 th 2008 On Friday 4 th April we will have a coursework afternoon P3 to the end of P5. On Thursday 15 th April (during Easter holidays) we will have a coursework day when you can improve your coursework further. We will revisit Unit 2 & 3 after Easter. Coursework club on WEDNESDAYS after school.
