Riccardi: LBT672 7 A1: test of P45 in Arcetri P45 + LBT crate-electronics (from mid May 2004) + Power Backplain Noise with large spectral features and crosstalk with coil Large noise due to crosstalk with new switching power supplies Most of the Microgate (hardware) and Arcetri (software) effort for noise analysis and optimization in order to freeze asap final electronic layout reorganization of ground connections optimization of ADC, DAC and capsens sample-hold timing optimization of analog filters including anti-aliasing optimization of current driver response

Riccardi: LBT672 8 A1: test of P45 in Arcetri Optimized P45+final crate electronics: early Feb 2005 flat noise spectrum typical noise 1.3nm rms @ 40  m gap (old crates: 1.7nm rms) typical noise 3.5nm rms @ 68  m gap step response with 0.55-0.65ms settling time @ 68  m gap chopping of ±70  m (±7arcsec) @ 128  m gap (to be optimized) Electronics definitively frozen and sent to production

Riccardi: LBT672 14 Solved critical issues Hardware of new crate electronics (including Power BP) has been debugged and optimized Suitable grounding connections have been determined Bias magnets have been implemented and tested Digital damping has been successfully tested –AO at large gap (less sensitivity to contamination) –Chopping (to be optimized, see Xompero talk) Optical test tower has been erected and is mechanically and thermally stable
