2 Overview Designed, overseen and championed by the Community Vision Reference Panel made up of community members, Councillors and Council officers. Living Kingston 2035 aimed to: Create a shared vision for Kingston in 2035 Offer multiple participation options and opportunities Gather a large number of diverse views reflecting the entire Kingston community Explore new online consultation technologies Encourage community leadership and capacity building Produce a significant body of research to inform future planning

5 STAGE 1: Initial data gathering STAGE 1 Jan ‘12 ongoing until Oct Naming competition Initial data gathering Surveys and online submissions Tell us what you LIKE, IMPROVE, WISH 68 app downloads 117 participants in naming competition 103 website submissions

6 STAGE 2: Community forums STAGE 2 May/June ‘12 Topic-based community forums Tell us what you LIKE, IMPROVE, WISH Community forums Targeted consultation activities 2,196 visits to website

7 Stage 3 – testing/validating WISH statements Over 13,000 ideas were generated into 100 broad WISH statements STAGE 3 Oct– Dec ‘12 Release of 100 broad WISH statement for testing/validating data Area-based community forums Online voting and feedback 4,101 votes were allocated on the online voting platform

8 Stage 4 – Data informed planning STAGE 4 Jan – March ‘13 Preparation of research reports Research to inform Council’s strategic plan Development of Draft LivingKingston2035 vision

9 Stage 5 – Release of Draft Vision STAGE 5 Apr – May ‘13 Release of Draft LivingKingston2035 vision Community feedback on Draft vision 95.6% agreed that this is a Vision that Council and the community should work towards video watched 203 times 389 visits to website 76 submissions

10 Stage 6 – Community launch STAGE 6 Jun – Jul ‘13 Finalisation and adoption of LivingKingston2035 vision by Reference Panel and Council Launch of vision Public release of final research reports
