Sitting posture Head carriage Spinal curve supported Pelvic tilt maintained Shoulders relaxed Elbows and wrists neutral with elbows in line with work surface Hips, knees and ankles neutral with knees not higher than hips Footstool if required No excess pressure behind the knees or under thigh
Workstation set-up RECOMMENDATIONS: Chair height adjusted correctly to work surface Top of monitor screen set at eye level Monitor stand used to correct height Document holder positioned for minimal head movement Monitor screen no less than arms length Support for wrists on front of desk Pull into desk - chair arms should not obstruct position No obstructions to legs and feet under the desk
Other equipment considerations Telephones should be positioned within convenient reach, if used regularly. Placing the phone on the opposite side to the mouse can balance physical stresses. A headset should be provided if DSE work is required while on the phone. Filing and peripheral items should be ordered and positioned to allow easy access.
