2 ZERO CONDITIONAL SENTENCES Use: to express a real condition/ imperative (advice) Form: o If o When + present simple, present simple o Unless Examples: o If it is hot, ice-cream melts. o Ice-cream melts if it is hot. o When you are sad, talk to someone. o If people tease you, don’t react.

4 FIRST CONDITIONAL SENTENCES Use: to express a probable condition. Form:  If  When + present simple, will / shall + an infinitive  Unless Examples:  If you eat too much, you will be fat.  You will be fat if you eat too much.  I’ll look stupid if I wear it.

6 SECOND CONDITIONAL SENTENCES Use: to express an imaginary, improbable condition that may not be fulfilled. Form:  If + past simple, would/ should(not) + infinitive Examples:  If I was a millionaire, I would buy an old castle.  I would invite my friends there if I bought the castle.  If I was an actor, I would have great time.
