Today we will focus on how a PLOT develops A PLOT is the main problem or conflict in the story
Plot Structure The plot of a story can be drawn like a pyramid. This shows how a plot develops throughout the story.
Plot Structure Study this pyramid to see how a plot can develop in a story
Plot Components Exposition: the start of the story, the situation before the action starts Rising Action: the series of conflicts and events in the story that lead to the climax Climax: the turning point, the most intense moment— either mentally or in action Falling Action: all of the action which follows the climax Resolution: the conclusion, or solution and ending
Plot Structure Read the story of Jack and the Bean Stalk. Then put the different parts of the plot into the pyramid. (The next page has the story and the activity)
