Plot Structure Plot is the literary element that describes the structure of a story. It shows a casual arrangement of events and actions within a story.

Plot Structure Components Exposition: The start of the story. The way things are before the action starts. This includes the setting! Rising Action: the series of conflicts and crisis in the story that lead to the climax. Climax: The turning point. The most intense moment (either mentally or in action. Falling Action: all of the action which follows the Climax. Resolution: The conclusion, the tying together of all of the threads.

Conflicts Man vs Man (external conflict) Example : You and your mom are in conflict Man vs Himself (internal conflict) Example : You see a peer cheating on a test and you have to make a choice whether to tell the teacher or not.

Conflicts Man vs Society (external conflict) Example: Society says it's not right if you steal so, you must not steal, but some people steal every day even though it is not what Society believes. Man vs Nature (external conflict) Example: Man is trying to drive during a blizzard.
