2 1.What country has the largest column? What are the reasons that you think that this country has the highest amount? The country with the largest column is the United States. I think that this country has the highest amount because many people are constantly moving there, and over time that builds up our population. 2.What country has the smallest/lowest? What reasons would cause this country to have a low amount? The country with the smallest population is Costa Rica. I think this is because they are a relatively poor country and not many people seek to live there. 3.Look at the 5 th and 6 th ranked countries. Are they developed, developing, or one of each? Why do you think that they are where they are in the rankings? Use data to help you answer the question. The fifth ranked country is Egypt and it is a developing country. The sixth ranked country is the UK and it is developed. I think the fifth ranked country is where it is because it is a country in the middle east/ Africa area, which has a lot of political issues right now, so many people wouldn’t want to move there. I think the sixth ranked country is where it is because the weather isn’t very good and also it is under a monarchy, and a lots of people don’t like monarchies. 4. Look at the 7 th and 8 th ranked countries. Are they developing countries? If so, what do they need to do in order to get to the top half of the rankings? Use data from any information to help you answer the question. The seventh ranked country is the Canada and it is a developed country. The eighth ranked country is Venezuela and it is a developing country. In order to get to the top half of the rankings, I think Venezuela needs to build more landmarks to attract more people. 5. Name another country (other than the US) that stands out to you on the chart. Describe the country and what type of impact it has on world consumption. On the graph, Brazil’s bar stands out to me. This is mostly because it is the tallest bar besides the United States. Brazil is still a developing country, but it consumes a lot of resources. Many people move to Brazil because there are many opportunities such as many jobs and various sports careers.

I think this is because the USA uses oil for many things such as cars, asphalt, jet fuel, plastic, etc. 2. What country has the smallest/lowest? What reasons would cause this country to have a low amount? The country with the smallest amount is Costa Rica. I think this is because there is not many people there, so their Oil Consumption will not be as high as a country like the United States. 3. Look at the 5 th and 6 th ranked countries. Are they developed, developing, or one of each? Why do you think that they are where they are in the rankings? Use data to help you answer the question. The fifth ranked country is Mexico and it is developing. The sixth ranked country is UK and it is developed. I think Mexico is where it is because it is highly populated, and many people drive cars, make plastic, and there are a lot of plane flights in and out of Mexico. I think the UK is where it is because there is a high demand for cars and plastic in this country. 4. Look at the 7 th and 8 th ranked countries. Are they developing countries? If so, what do they need to do in order to get to the top half of the rankings? Use data from any information to help you answer the question. The seventh ranked country is Egypt and it is developing. The eighth ranked country is Venezuela and it is developing too. In order to get to the top half of the rankings, they need to use more oil. 5. Name another country (other than the US) that stands out to you on the chart. Japan consumes a lot of oil because there is a lot of people so there is a lot of gasoline and plastic made.
