Having a School Subway or Deli Having Healthier Snacks in the Snack Line Having the Snack Line Open all Day
Deli and/or Subway Having a school Subway instead of our unhealthy school lunches would be a good idea because it is healthy and we would be getting fresh meat and vegetables every day. Some disadvantages are that some families cannot afford the regular school lunch expense of $2.50. Having subway sandwiches would be around $5.00 to $8.00. So there are more negatives than positives for this policy.
Healthier Snacks Having healthier snacks in the snack line during school lunch could also be an alternative, but this idea is not practical in many ways. For example students who attend sports would not be able to access the snacks at the end of the school day. Students who attend other after school activities would also be unable to get food to eat.
All Day Snack Line Another alternative would be that school snack line could be held open all day, but this could bring many problems. This could cost the school extra amounts of money for a person to always be watching over and receiving the money for the food (Another Worker). Also finding times to go down to the cafeteria could make students late, and students could use it as an excuse to spend time wandering the halls.
In Conclusion As one can see, it is evident that the idea of having healthy vending machines placed into our school is the best policy. It is much simpler and efficient than the others. It provides food throughout the day as well as a healthy alternative to junk foods. This policy could also benefit the after school programs such as sports where students might need refreshments before and after practices or games so with the help of the vending machines they can quickly use them for the drinks they need. Also it could help provide snacks or refreshments for the school dances or other events.
