4 Community Work – Key Areas Our key areas for carrying out this work must focus on: Families (including parents) of Deployed Units Isolated Service Communities Isolated Service Families Children and Young People Single Service Personnel Local Service Communities

7 Families and Friends of Deployed Units - FAFDU Is a project aimed at supporting service families who remain at home whilst their loved one is away on deployment. Social get-togethers are arranged on a monthly basis, either a Saturday or Sunday, sometimes at our local Community Centres as well as trips out and about to local attractions.

10 WHAT IS RNCOM Dedicated website set up for development of a unit specific family community, via the internet. The object is to promote and welcome all RN/RM families to become part of the extended naval family. Thus creating a support network for families at times of need and heightened tension.

11 Short Term Housing Scheme To alleviate separation. Family quarters fully equipped with TV/Video, microwave, duvets, linen etc. short stays minimum two nights service personnel, ex service personnel and MOD civilians and their families Prices from £27 per night Tel: 02392528235 E-Mail: shortterm2@btconnect.com

12 Partnership Working with Local Schools and Sure Start Children’s Centres and other agencies to provide a more collaborative approach to support and Working.
