3 Wednesday, September 25  Objective: I will deepen my understanding of the setting of The Glass Menagerie by reading scene 2 and analyzing sample soundtracks from various productions of the play.  Standards: RL.9-10.3, RL.9-10.10, L.9-10.4a, L.9-10.5a  Journal: In a few sentences, summarize the first scene. Who are the characters so far ? What happened?

4 Unit 2 Summative Assessments  Summative Assessment #1: Unit Exam  Vocabulary (Matching)  Short answers (based on chapter questions)  Short essay (1 page based on characters and symbolism)  October 11 (Block 5) and October 14 (Block 2, 4, 8)  Summative Assessment #2: Characterization Project  Character study through a different medium: poetry, collage, music, video, etc.  Menagerie Showcase: October 17 (Block 5) and October 18 (Block 2, 4, 8)

5 Scene 2 Vocabulary  Match the word to its definition.  Use the word in a new sentence.

6 Scene 2 Reading  Readers: Read in a loud and clear voice.  Everyone else:  Listen.  Annotate (5 per scene.)  Answer scene questions.

7 Music For The Play  You will hear different pieces of music used for various productions of the play.  We will listen to each piece twice.  Answer the corresponding questions on your sheet.
