That means when you are done with your coffee pot, microwave, hairdryer and other devices, disconnect them totally from their power sources. Next to the TV, which can draw 12 watts of electricity even after you flick off American Idol, the biggest standby energy hog is the home computer and its suite of devices. A printer can draw 11.5 watts when idling, and a subwoofer Plug all of them into a power strip and when you are through cruising for green tips, turn it off. Fathers Day Trivia Some interesting facts by the numbers… This is a big day for the 66.3 million fathers in America. Nearly 95 million Fathers Day cards were given last year in the US, making Fathers Day the 4 th largest card sending occasion. Sons and daughters send 50% of fathers Day cards to their dads. Nearly 20% are purchased by wives for their husbands. That leaves 30% of the cards going to grandfathers, sons, brothers uncles and someone special. While not everyone is a fan of Fathers Day, 72% of Americans plan to celebrate or acknowledge Fathers Day. More than 68 million Americans participated in a barbeque last year – its probably safe to assume many of these took place on Fathers Day.
