12 The EC Communication Task Force Mission: Through a global communication campaign touch hearts and move minds around the world, inspiring people individually and collectively to transform their way of thinking, becoming living examples of the Earth Charter, reflecting and acting for all - humanity, life and Earth.

13 Vision: We envision global alliances formed with the most powerful media organizations - both in reach and affluence - that will work collaborative with the Earth Charter Communication Task Force to massively and rapidly amplify basics values helping form the necessary ethical foundation for the emerging world community.

14 To meet Earth Charter s 1st goal : To raise awareness worldwide of the Earth Charter and to promote understanding of its inclusive ethical vision.

15 And influence meeting Earth Charter s 3 other goals: 2.To seek recognition and endorsement of the Earth Charter by individuals, organizations, and the United Nations. 3. To promote the use of the Earth Charter as an ethical guide and the implementation of its principles by civil society, business, and government. 4. To encourage and support the educational use of the Earth Charter in schools, universities, religious communities, local communities, and many other settings.

20 A little history.. 1.December 2008: ECI international meeting in Amsterdam discussed the need for a media task force. 2.December 2008: During the breaks of COP 14 in Poznan, Brendan and Fernanda, motivated by the urgent need to advance climate negotiations, worked on the first communication task force draft focused on climate change. The EC Communication Task Force

21 3.April 2009: Fernanda and Cristina Moreno (EC Brazil) adapted the first task force draft and brought it to life on ECs (Carta da Terra) first advertising campaign launched in Brazil on Earth Day - April 22nd 2009. The TV spot aired during 5 weeks in more than 25 national and international TV channels such as: The EC Communication Task Force - live example:
