5 Goal Exercise online testing workstations to confirm readiness at schools. Exercise the maximum number of workstations expected to test concurrently Detect local network AND/OR internet issues between OK and CTB Readiness Check Date/Time: January 28, 2014, 9:00 a.m.-10:00 a.m. (Alternate Date - Feb 4 th at the same time ) Approximately 30 minutes concurrently to confirm readiness at Sites. Test in progress and test taker engaged for at least 30 mins. Logins and Test Access: 400 Fake Student Accounts per GRADE (6,7, 8), i.e. 1200 per school. Do not need to use all. Student Login ID, Password and access codes – common to all users. Example: Login ID: 0015grade60001… Password: test and Access Code: 0015test Statewide Readiness Check Participants: Parent Volunteers, Teachers or Students (on-grade for practice) If Students participate, sites should use on-grade test tickets for student practice Statewide Readiness Check answers will not be scored. 6 Before Test Day Plan for and schedule the Statewide Readiness Test. Install TDC software and Statewide Readiness Testing content/ Setup network. Select test takers; parent volunteers, teachers or students. Access test taker logins, password, and TAC from ISOFT and print. Involve Technology and Test Coordinators in the planning phase. Print trouble-shooting support document. Provide to test coordinators and staff members involved with Statewide Readiness Test. Plan for protocol/phone tree in the event issues occur during the Statewide Readiness Test. 7 Statewide Readiness Test – Basic FAQs Slide 7 Participation: Where can schools find Instructions, Troubleshooting Guide, Readiness Tickets?: Test Tickets and Directions are available on the ctb.com/ok Secure File Sharing (ISOFT portal). Test Tickets are good through 3/1. The directions (with links to TDC and Content are available at ctb.com/ok as well). Do Students have to participate? No. Statewide Readiness Test Participants can be: Parent volunteers, teachers or students. Schools may opt to have 6 th, 7 th and 8 th graders test on- grade using the corresponding test tickets. All others may use any test ticket you wish. Does the School have to participate? Yes. Unless special arrangements have been made with the SDE. Can my school test with a few workstations instead of all? How many workstations should be logged in? As many workstations as are planned for concurrent online testing. My school has a 1:1 program (with laptops). Do I need to test with all of them? No. Only the maximum number of workstations you expect to see during operational testing need to be used in the readiness check. I want to conduct an additional readiness test on my own. Is this okay? Yes. Use test tickets that were not used during the official readiness test. The test tickets are good through 3/1. 10 On Test Day Provide test takers with test ticket (one each).Administer Statewide Readiness Test. Technology and Test Coordinators monitor testing process and record issues. Implement a contact protocol or phone tree in the event a site experiences issues during the test. 11 Statewide Readiness Test – FAQs Slide 11 Troubleshooting on Test Day: We are trying to take part in the Readiness Test but all of my machines have a TDC error (any TDC error). What do I do? Stop the test. If the issue can be resolved quickly (such as 209 error) and the test can still be taken on test day, try to do so. Otherwise, abandon test and plan for a local test later on. Within 1 – 3 days. Depends on the issues faced on readiness test day. Some sites may receive a call back on test day. Others may take a day or two. 16 For a Positive Testing Experience … Anti-virus software (full scans) should be scheduled after testing hours. Screen savers and power management should be set to a longer timeout. Restrict other intensive bandwidth use during testing - such as Dropbox. Laptop protocol – Use AC power, wired access, wireless check. Whitelist *.CTB or allow IPs if IP addresses are required locally. Verify setup on a few workstations prior to testing. Restore software (Deep Freeze, etc.) configured to retain test data after reboot. Text To Speech –Volume ON and MP3 files allowed. All other applications closed on testing machines during the test.
