6 Acceleration Event Friday morning, 9:00am - 12:30pm 75 meter (82 yard) straightaway 2 drivers per car / 2 runs per driver Scoring: 0 to 75 points possible Fastest run counts Cones Down or Out = 2 sec penalty per cone Off Course = DNF (Did Not Finish) = 0 points 2013 Formula SAE

7 Skid Pad Event Friday morning, 9:00am - 12:30pm 2 circles of 50 diameter in a figure-8 pattern 2 drivers per car / 2 runs per driver Each run consists of 2-right and 2-left laps 2013 Formula SAE

8 Autocross Event Friday afternoon, 2:00 ~ 5:30pm Course Length = approx ½ mile 2 drivers per car / 2 laps per driver Typically 3-4 cars on the track concurrently No passing in this solo event Avg Speeds = 35 to 40 MPH Cones Down or Out = 2 sec penalty per cone Off Course = 20 sec penalty Missed Slalom = 20 sec per occurrence 2013 Formula SAE

9 Endurance & Efficiency Event All day Saturday, 9:00am ~ 12:30pm & 1:35 ~ 5:30pm Course Length ~ 1.0 Kilometer Total run = 2 x 11 laps 2 drivers per car / Driver change midway Typically 5-7 cars on the track concurrently Passing within designated zones Avg speed = 35 MPH / top speed = 65 MPH Cones Down or Out = 2 sec penalty per cone Off Course = 20 sec penalty Missed Slalom = 20 sec per occurrence 2013 Formula SAE New Name

14 Corner Workers Safety Tips Wear appropriate outerwear – no shorts Bring Work Gloves Do not use cameras or cell phones when track is hot Always be aware of oncoming cars Cross track only when absolutely necessary Be careful when approaching or pushing cars Be aware of hot exhaust system, leaking fuel or coolant, engine fires, broken body or suspension parts, etc. Safest location to push the car is on the main roll hoop, but watch your footing! 2013 Formula SAE

15 Corner Workers Comfort Tips Wear comfortable shoes (but NO open-toes) Apply Sunscreen Stay hydrated Communicate with your Corner Captain and Co-Workers Track sessions are 3-4 hours long. Be prepared. Show up on time and stay until the end of your shift - Were counting on you! Bring a positive attitude – HAVE FUN & BE SAFE ! 2013 Formula SAE
