3 LEADS The first sentence, or sentences, in a piece of writing. The lead must be interesting. It should hook the reader into reading the rest of the writing.

8 CONCLUSION The end of a piece of writing. The conclusion finishes a piece of writing in a satisfying way.

9 RUBRIC How to get a 5: There is a logical order. It makes sense and is easy to follow. Everything ties together. The lead sentences says, WOW! The end feels finished and makes the reader think.
