Sad Depressed Traumatized Miserable and unable to communicate their dilemma to anyone They feel their situation is hopeless and sometimes commit suicide
Low self-esteem To gain acceptance To gain respect Social status Financial status An individual may experience this behaviour at home and may do this to others
To stop hurtful behaviour we all need to respond when it occurs and take steps to prevent it. The first step is recognizing when there is a problem. Stay calm. Bullies LOVE a reaction so don't give them one. If you know of someone who doesn't like you, steer clear. Take yourself out of the situation.
If the bully won't stay away from you, ignore them and walk away. It's harder for the bully to harass you if youre not there. Don't be afraid to tell people you trust. Adults can help more than you think. They have resources that you dont and the benefit of experience. If at first you dont find a supportive adult, keep looking. Youll eventually find one that will listen and help you.
