2 DEFINITION: BULLYING IS SOMEONE WHO HAS UNDERMINED YOU AND HAS MADE YOU FEEL SMALLER MENTALLY, PHYSICALLY AND EMOTIONALLY.

3 Bullies can be of any ethnic or racial background. Both male and female Of all ages In groups or as individual They torment and frighten others

4 Physical Any forms of physical attack Examples: hitting, kicking, pinching, scratching, and spitting Emotional Anything that can cause emotional pain. Examples: spreading rumours, excluding someone from a social group, also being made the subject of malicious rumours Cyber Any type of bullying that is carried out by electronic devices Examples: Text message bullying, Picture/video clip bullying via mobile phone cameras, E-mailing bullying, and Chat-room bullying, etc. Verbal Any form of name calling, teasing, spreading rumours, making racist remarks, making sexist or homophobic jokes, or using any form of abusive language would be considered verbal bullying.

5 Sad Depressed Traumatized Miserable and unable to communicate their dilemma to anyone They feel their situation is hopeless and sometimes commit suicide

8 To stop hurtful behaviour we all need to respond when it occurs and take steps to prevent it. The first step is recognizing when there is a problem. Stay calm. Bullies LOVE a reaction so don't give them one. If you know of someone who doesn't like you, steer clear. Take yourself out of the situation.

9 If the bully won't stay away from you, ignore them and walk away. It's harder for the bully to harass you if youre not there. Don't be afraid to tell people you trust. Adults can help more than you think. They have resources that you dont and the benefit of experience. If at first you dont find a supportive adult, keep looking. Youll eventually find one that will listen and help you.
