5. Receive Those who say they are in the light,
yet hate their brothers and sisters,
are in the darkness to this very hour.
Those who love their brothers and sisters
live in the light.
First letter of John, chapter 2, verses 9-10a.

• Highlights the good work done by local faith, inter faith and faith-based groups and organisations
• Draws new people into inter faith learning and cooperation
• Enables greater interaction between people of different backgrounds
• Helps develop integrated and neighbourly communities
• Celebrates diversity and commonality
• Opens new possibilities for partnership

Some discussion ideas …
What aims do we share across all faiths?
Why is sharing ideas with different people important?
Why is faith in God so central to many people across the world?
Discussion techniques - Go back to the Bible passage ask “How does the theme link with the Bible passage?”
Discuss the question in pairs for 30 seconds then invite a response from each pair.
Use quick-fire answers e.g. throw a soft bean bag / toy to a student, when they answer they throw it back and you quickly throw to another student.
Simplify the question - Invite quick one-word answers, write them on the board, then reflect on the answers – see connections.
