2 Trait Theories of Personality
Trait: a characteristic pattern of behavior or a disposition to feel and act They believe that we can describe people’s personalities by specifying their main characteristics (traits). Traits like honesty, laziness, ambition, outgoing are thought to be stable over the course of your lives.

3 Trait Theories Personality Inventories –
questionnaire used to measure a person’s score on certain traits Minnesota Multiphasic personality Inventory (MMPI) most widely researched and clinically used of all personality tests BIG FIVE personality traits: (remember CANOE) Conscientiousness Agreeableness Neuroticism Openness to experience Extraversion Factor Analysis is used to see the clusters and score these tests.
