1. Welcome to 2nd Grade!
I hope you have spent lots of time adventuring this summer and enjoying time with friends and family. As the school year quickly approaches I wanted to welcome you to Room 105! I am so excited to be your teacher, we are going to have lots of fun learning together this year!
Get your brains ready to go…try reading some short stories over the next few weeks and sharpening up those addition and subtraction skills! My website has lots of great links to visit and games to play to get you back into the swing of things so make sure you check that out.
As you prepare for school there are some things you will need for the first day! I will have supplies for us all to share in the classroom but if you are able, please purchase the items on the attached list. Bring your supplies in a pencil box to keep in your desk.
For our first day of school please bring in something to share with your new classmates from your summer vacation. It could be a picture or maybe a special souvenir from a vacation you took! Don’t forget to pack a healthy snack for the morning and afternoon. You may also bring a water bottle but please make sure your name is on it. I am really looking forward to beginning our journey together in 2nd grade! Enjoy the rest of your summer and tune in to the attached page to learn a little about your new teacher!

2. MEET THE TEACHER A few of my favorite things:
Hi! My name is Miss Stevens and I am very excited to be joining the 2nd grade team here at Durham Nockamixon Elementary! I am thrilled to be your teacher and I am looking forward to a year of learning, fun, and adventure! I can’t wait to learn all about you, but first I’ll tell you a little about myself.
I was born in Doylestown, PA and lived in Perkasie with my family until 5th grade when I moved to Palisades School District! I went to college at Susquehanna University and played soccer during my four years there. After graduating I became an instructional assistant in 2nd grade and last year I was a 3rd grade teacher at Durham Nox! In May of this year I graduated from Saint Joseph’s University with my Master’s in Special Education. I will be coaching soccer again this year at Palisades Middle School and I am really looking forward to a great season!
