3 National Strategic Plan ● Every eligible youth has an opportunity to be involved in a quality Scouting experience ● Every local council is fiscally sound ● The number of volunteers is dramatically increased at all levels of Scouting ● Chartered organizations and strategic alliances are identified and engaged ● Enough professionals are identified, developed, and retained at all levels

4 Time-line ● November – Share program in Roundtables ● Nov 15 – Feb 15, 2007 – Commissioners meet with units to secure commitments. ● Feb 15, 2007 – commitment forms due at office ● Oct 31, 2007 – Dec 31, 2007 – Units review accomplishments towards Quality Unit award.

5 The requirements... ● Trained leaders – Basic Training and Youth Protection ● Recruiting and Retaining youth members ● Recruiting and Training new adults – National parent initiative

6 The requirements... ● Advancement – at least 60% advance ● Activity – At least one activity / outdoor experience a month – 70% attendance – Pack meetings count for Cubs ● Annual program planning – Including annual budget

7 Additional goals ● Not requirements – Unit commissioner visit – FOS and Popcorn sales participation – 100% Boys' Life – Service projects recorded – Active unit committee – Youth training for Boy Scouts and Venturers – Patrol method
