8 This unit offers an opportunity for the student to read a text that can readily be applied to one’s ministry in the church. It is an accessible overview of the key concepts that one needs in order to analyze conflicts in the ministerial setting. Completing the exercises in the book encourages readers to reflect on conflicts in their own lives.

14 Take some private time to reflect on the following questions:  In what areas in my life do I find myself in conflict with another person or group?  When was the last time I had a significant conflict? Who was there? What happened? How did I react?  What are the areas of my life in which I anticipate conflicts? What might precipitate a conflict in one of these areas? How do I wish to respond?  What would help me to respond better in interpersonal conflicts?

21  Unit 4 considered practical skills and strategies used by disputants in conflict. It utilized a simple textbook and its exercises.  It also invited students to reflect on themselves as disputants.
